But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.(1 Peter 1:15, 16 )
What does that mean to you? In case you did not know, the word 'conversation' is way of living or conduct. Are we really being holy in ALL manner of our conduct? How serious should we take this command? Consider this as well:
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.(1 John 2:3, 4)
There are a lot of commandments in the New Testament. Based on what is quoted above, shouldn't we take them seriously? I think we should ... from the heart of course ... because we really love the Lord and want to please Him. Not because we think it will get us into heaven.
If ye love me, keep my commandments.(John 14:15 )
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.(1 John 5:3)
