Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
I've been thinking about this ... if the things in this list will cause separation from God, do you think he wants professing followers of Christ to ACT like they are participating in these things? If these things will separate you from God, I think it is very, very safe to assume that if you act like you are doing these things that too will separate you from God. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Why would you even want to PRETEND to be something on this list???
Everyone should know by now that I am very much against halloween. I honestly cannot see how any professing follower of Christ would want to participate in this dark, wicked holiday. BUT what baffles me even more - far more - is when professing christians participate in halloween AND dress up as something wicked ... like a witch, a vampire, a zombie, a whore, or a witch, vampire, or zombie that looks like a whore. I could give more examples but you get my point.
How can you do this and think that you are all right in your walk with the Lord? How could you do this and think that it is pleasing to the Lord?? Why would you want to have fellowship with darkness? Why would you want to be friends with the world and Satan??
If you do this and claim to be a follower of Christ, instead of getting offended at me why not examine yourself and see if what you are doing is pleasing or offending to the Lord? Ask yourself a simple question like, "If Jesus were here, would he participate in halloween?" or, "If Jesus were here, would he dress up like a witch?" Seriously. Do you think he would? If you do, I am very grieved for your soul.
Jesus was busy going about his Father's business. I'm sure that did not include dressing up like a whore or some other disgusting thing (or even something 'cute') and participating in Satan's holiday.
Phil. 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Light CANNOT abide with darkness. Don't be deceived. The Narrow Path has NO ROOM for halloween or anything associated with it.
