Your Will

There has been a post I've been wanting to make for a while now but have never got it out. Last sunday Brother David shared a message about our will that fits so nicely into what I wanted to share; he even said a lot about the role of the woman. It was a real blessing. Here is that message, titled YOUR WILL. I encourage you all to listen to it.

A note at the top of my notebook says, "Blog post - John 12:48." In that passage Jesus says: He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

It really comes down to our will. We have a choice. Are we going to submit our will to the will of the Lord, or are going to do our own thing? Maybe we want to submit in some areas or even most areas but are holding something back? The Lord hates this! The scriptures are clear: when women submit their will to their husbands, they are submitting to the Lord.

There is coming a day of judgement and here the Lord is warning us: we will be judged by his words. This reminds me of how in Titus 2:4-5, after a list of things women are to be it says: "that the word of God be not blasphemed." If we say we are followers of Christ yet we are not examples of godly women, we are blaspheming the word of God. We may claim to love the Lord and love our husbands, however our actions are showing we have rejected the truth and have not received the words of our Messiah.

  1. This was an excellent, and rather timely message. David's words on the role of women were very clear and concise. It is our will (choice), and that will should fall in line with God's will. It matters not what our husband's are or are not doing, we will only be judged on what we are doing, and we should be doing God's will, and that is to submit and obey as God has shown in His word.
