About

October 2022

Welcome to my blog. I pray this is a place where you can find encouragement to help be a true daughter of Sarah.

A little about me ...
My name is Joanne. I have 3 children whom I enjoyed homeschooling in a more relaxed manner. Tylor ('93), Brianna ('95) and Corban ('97). We all live pretty close to each other but on separate properties (I live on my youngest's 20 acres in my own home). So far I have 6 grandchildren, and another on the way, Lord willing. I was raised atheist by my dad (a single father). He and I have always been, and still are, very close.

I enjoy gardening, cooking, baking, working with sourdough and other ferments, taking care of the barn animals, and tons more. I have some neurological issues (that we now know are from Autism!) that hinder me from being as active as I would like to be, but I still manage to get around pretty good as long as I am careful to respect my boundaries.

My spiritual journey has been a long one and is still continuing, praise the Lord. The Messiah is offering each of us our own cross and my cross probably does not look the same as yours. That's ok and that's good; he knows what each of us can handle.

Long story short, we've been living in Monett, MO, attending The Church of Monett since the fall of 2009. It's been a great blessing to say the least but words cannot express my love and gratitude to all of my family here - brothers and sisters who are just trying to do what pleases the Father.
Side note: In the past I believe some readers of my blog have understandably assumed we all believe exactly that same at my fellowship, however here I would like to take the opportunity to say we all believe we should each be free to work out our own salvation. I have chosen to add in this side note because not too long ago someone directly used something I posted here on this blog AGAINST my fellowship. As a blanket / general statement: if you have an issue with something I say on my blog, please take it up with me and do not assume my fellowship agrees with everything I say. Make sense? Good :)

Yes, there have been a lot of trials along the way ... but trials only serve to make us stronger. I wouldn't have it any other way. God is good!

If you are interested, I have another blog about cooking and homemaking that I am not very good at updating: Frugal Home and Health
