We will not all reach the mission field on our feet but we can all reach it on our knees. - Author Unknown
There is a common or popular belief among most professing Christians that I never understood. I'm not sure if it's just something that's been ingrained into their beliefs and they never really thought about it or ?? It is this: For some reason the "mission field" is some place else, far away, in some foreign land. I know, it's far more glamourous seeming to go off to Kenya or some little island in Malaysia, but what about right here in the States?
"Can't see the trees for the forest is in the way." (David)
It starts with you and your heart. Then it branches out to those within the walls of the home you live. Then your neighbourhood. Your community. Your town or city. This is the mission field. It's not glamourous. It's certainly not far away. No stamps in your passport or exotic looking coins and bills to show to others. You probably wont even get noticed.
YES! We all WILL reach the mission field. We are all IN the mission field RIGHT NOW. It's ALL AROUND US. Every day.
Woman, your most important role on this earth is wife and mother. It is good to visit the elderly and those in need as time allows, however your first duty is your husband's will, right in your own home. If you cannot be an example of Christ in your own home with your husband and children (or father if not married), then you have no business trying to be an example to others outside of your home. It's so easy to put up a front to those who do not know you and make it seem like all is in order, however the ones who are the closest to you know you the best. Are you Christ-like to them?
